Ship radio stations must comply with the following technical requirements:
Transmit Power Regulation
Case records from the Zhangjiagang Maritime Safety Administration in 2022 indicate that the use of a Model TM-281 VHF device with a transmit power of 65W constitutes a regulatory violation; consequently, enforcement officers legally mandated its replacement with compliant equipment.
Equipment Identification Mechanism
Radio station identification codes utilize a 9-digit decimal encoding system. The identification code format for AIS-SART devices is 970XXYYYY, ensuring a globally unique identifier.
Power Supply Configuration Standards
Radio communication equipment must be equipped with a dedicated emergency power supply capable of maintaining power for at least one hour following the failure of the main power source (passenger vessels are required to maintain power for 4 hours). The backup power supply unit must be installed at a location situated at least 5 cm above the highest continuous deck.
