In the field of wireless communication, "dual-mode" refers to a device that simultaneously supports two distinct methods of signal transmission. For two-way radios-commonly known as walkie-talkies-this typically signifies a combination of traditional UHF/VHF radio modes and 4G public network communication modes. Traditional walkie-talkies are constrained by terrain and distance, generally offering a coverage range of only a few kilometers; dual-mode radios, however, leverage access to public 5G networks to enable real-time communication across cities and provinces, boasting a theoretical communication range of up to 5,000 kilometers. This technology is particularly well-suited for scenarios such as vehicle convoys, outdoor expeditions, and construction site dispatching; it requires no reliance on repeater stations-connectivity is established simply by having access to a network.
During a recent self-driving expedition across the Western Sichuan Plateau, our six-vehicle convoy relied entirely on this dual-mode, nationwide-coverage radio to maintain contact. Furthermore, the device features a rugged, water-resistant, and drop-proof design, ensuring worry-free use even during rainy rides, while its battery life is more than sufficient to last an entire day. Whether for long-haul freight transport, guided tours at scenic spots, or outdoor rescue operations, this device acts as a silent yet steadfast companion-one that never lets you down when it matters most.
