The DMR standard is divided into three tiers:
Tier I: This tier of DMR is designed for use in unlicensed frequency bands and is suitable for both personal and commercial applications.
Tier II: Targeted at licensed frequency bands, this tier is widely popular in many commercial two-way radio applications. It offers a richer feature set and superior communication quality.
Tier III: This tier is designed for licensed radio systems, catering to large organizations or professional services; it supports both voice and data services and features centralized network management capabilities.
